...don't forget Joe Walsh! MASSIVE Blues fan here, and you totally nailed this one both with the nasty guitar playing and wicked vocals, and lyrics too.  Very interesting you mention ZZ Top here... I've been on a ZZ kick lately (might have mentioned it before even), and I believe the next collaboration I'm posting next week will be a VERY ZZ influenced song, and I came very close to asking you if you might be interested in covering the vocals. I thought of you right away when I heard it. But then I took a stab at it, and curious to see what you think. Stay tuned...

I recommend that anyone learning to play the guitar listen to this piece over and over again, playing the Gm/B♭pentatonic scale in various ways, and trying to find a phrase that you like.

The volume adjustment during mixdown is optimized for the environment when using the earphones that come with the iPhone. If you feel that the volume of the guitar playing in this work is low, please use earphones and check the volume balance of this recording. It seems that earphones other than those that came with the iPhone do not have any problems. When using an Android device and when connecting an audio interface to a PC, I connected inexpensive earphones and confirmed that the guitar volume can be heard at a roughly appropriate balance.

There is another way. I have embedded a SoundCloud player on my blog to introduce my works, but I noticed that this work sounds harder (mid-high tones are clearer) than when played directly in the browser. This is a remix of STONERJAZZ's (@user-911083679) open collaboration, A Strong Cupa Joe. The original song is no longer available on his SoundCloud page, but you can give it a listen on his BandCamp where it is featured on the album 'Half-Life'. 

Jeff had already included that trippy repeating synthy thing going on throughout the background. I added the melodic thread that evolves throughout, the chords that chime in here and there, and the experimental sound collage at the end. I've had this one ready to go for a bit, and figured it would be fun to release this week, along with our new Smoking Trout song, Assimilation, as kind of like a fun little B-side to that track. This song began when Jonathan wrote it on his acoustic guitar several months ago with the intention of developing it into a larger song. When Josh approached him about doing a collaboration, Jonathan thought this one would fit the bill. I should say at this point how much we all admire Jonathan and enjoy his music. On the unlikely chance you aren't already familiar with his music, I suggest you go hop on his page and check it out. 
  All that to explain the level of excitement that ran through Eclectic Collective when Josh shared the project with the group. Chris was first to jump on it, coming up with his intricate bass line even before Ken added his moving drums, although they went back and forth a couple of times to create the rhythm section. Josh jumped on right after that part was complete, adding his mandolin and piano to the mix. Steven was next up, adding his howling slide throughout. Last, but certainly not least, Mark came up with the driving harmonica and twangy jaw harp, and the raspy fiddle, adding them all to complete the instruments. 
  At this point, we had a pretty good instrumental song on our hands. However, Chris decided to give it the extra kick by adding the vocals, the lyrics for which he wrote himself. Our multitalented drummer, Ken, added the vocal harmonies shortly after, too.
  Now that it was in the bag, we needed some production for it. So, we turned to Stephen, who mixed and mastered it in his alwasy expert fashion. 
  This song is a real treat for everyone in the band, as I mentioned earlie. We are all very grateful to Jonathan for sharing this song with us, and had a wonderful time helping bring it to life. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Weve Got It Made (Eclectic Collective with Jonathan Beckenstein)

In Euripides' tragedy 'The Suppliants', a group of Argive mothers travels to Eleusis to plead with Theseus, king of Athens, to help them recover the bodies of their sons, who fell during the failed assault on Thebes. The Thebans, in fact, refuse to return the corpses for burial. These mothers, immersed in profound grief, represent the universal symbol of maternal mourning in the face of the loss of their children in war.
