I originally wrote this on guitar and once the beat was made, I had an idea to just try and see if the song worked with it. Worked very well, so was a nice surprise and pleased with how well it matched the vibe. The pressure I had with this was striving for perfection. I had such high hopes for it because it's very nice acoustically and I wanted it to be mixed really well. It can be an annoying place to be in because overthinking becomes a problem and I was starting to delve too deep into small issues. Unfortunately, my skills didn't necessarily meet the ideas and way I wanted it to sound in my head but it's still a lovely song.

I wanted to make something that anyone can just vibe out too. When the beat was mixed, I had to write some catchy melodies and lyrics to fit the tone. Overall, I wanted it to be more atmospheric and maybe could have suited some cool vocal effects. However, it's still fun and it's the type of song someone can drive, workout and even chill to. It has a good balance and feel to it. 

BEAMING

I tried some new creative choices with this one and the beat is cool. So, I wanted to find a nice pocket to sit the vocals in and give it an interesting vibe. It worked quite nicely when writing it and I didn't necessarily go for a regular hook. I wanted to create enough space in the mix and create a nice atmosphere. It's definitely one of the better songs I've made so far.

I enjoyed making this one and feel like it all works quite nicely together. When I heard the sample I knew I wanted to craft something slow and didn't want to put too much to it, keep it simple but with a bounce. Writing it was fun and the idea just moved along as I started to craft it. I think the great thing about this song is even though it's simple, it doesn't get boring.

intoxicating

What I like about this song, is that it has an uplifting and powerful energy but also has emotional depth. I think the beat, lyrical melodies and flows go well together. However, at some points I could have had better timing with the vocals and sat them better in the mix. I definitely enjoy working on songs like this, different creative choices and a journey for a nice experience for the listener.

I really wanted to write something catchy and motivational to this beat. It has a cool vibe and wanted to give it a nice flow, I tried to keep it varied and interesting the whole time. Nice and simple but, fun and the type of song you can listen to anywhere. 

soon enough

It's a fun song and I went for a vibe that can be connected to emotionally but also the beat has a nice groove to it. I tried a new plugin with this one and it's great, however I don't know how to use it properly yet, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it can do to enhance the overall sound. Still working on how to create a more crisp sound and every song is different but, getting everything right and having it sound perfect is an unrealistic goal. I think this one has a nice balance with song structure and writing.

I like this one. I definitely feel like I'm starting to find a balance of my own sound and how I can articulate what I hear in my head and still write material that people can relate to across varied material. This song was just me enjoying the beat, crafting something and bringing my own vibe to it. 

hoop dreams (explicit)

What I really like about this one is the beat. I think lyrically it also has a nice journey with different melodies and progressions throughout the song but, the beat is kinda fire and there are some really nice pockets. I had a lot of fun making this one and I still have a lot of improving to do with particular aspects of my music making but I think the potential is starting to shine though. Also the first song I've got with two titles, I thought "vibes" wasn't enough and "runnin' on a bassline" just sounds cool.

I think this is a nice one and hope people enjoy it. Beat shlaps and vocals sit nicely in the mix. It's a good feeling to see some progression and improvement in skills. Not every song is working quite so well but I guess that's the nature of making music.
