Beautiful, allowing the harmony to linger

a truly wonderful refrain, and a contemplative mood this piano component, and the cello is responsible for the really gently. This is a great work of art. Finally a great answer to the piano. such a feeling would come to me.

Red House Painters - Have You Forgotten (Vinyl Version)

This is the first part of a piece I've been writing whilst on the the LSO's new Soundhub scheme - a space for composers to create and experiment.  The sampler is played by the pianist (at a right angle to the piano) and uses attack-less piano samples and Balinese Gamelan samples, both of which are taken from instruments at LSO St. Luke's.

The soloist was Valerie Cutko with Amy Finegan (Soprano), Nicola Burnett-Smith (mezzo soprano), Peter Luke Kenny and Jack Merivale (Countertenor), Charlie Evans (Electric Bass), Nat Harding (Trombone), Jon Francombe (Violin), James Di Capite (Violin), Jay Jenkinson (Cello), Sean Ryan (Drums) and conducted by Tom Kilworth. 

The piece was performed again on 21st May 2015 for the launch of the Festival of the Brain at Folkestone's Quarterhouse.

I'm thrilled to announce the release of my score for Pro2131 Enterprises' Starblazer - a new VR game for HTC Vive, coming to the Steam store this Christmas.

Starblazer is an immersive space strategy game pitting players against each other in real-time aerial battles. Build up your fleet, devise a winning strategy, and conquer the galaxy.

"Ready the Fleet" accompanies the player as they assemble their fleet for battle, and introduces two of the key musical motifs from the score.

Kirsty Devaney is a Birmingham based composer, studied with Joe Cutler, Howard Skempton and Ed Bennett. 

Her composing work ranges from composing for professional contemporary music ensembles across Europe, for amateur and youth ensembles, to working with film and electronics. Her music has been aired on Radio 3, performed by the London Symphony Orchestra, and in 2011, aged only 20, was shortlisted for a British Composer award for her work for CoMA London. 

She recently awarded the prestigious Anna Craft Award for research into ‘Creativity in Education’ from the British Education Research Association.
