The 37th release on microCastle finds the label revisiting King Unique's Beatport #1 release 'Some Break The Shell'. The four track EP released in April of 2014 found the storied UK producer showcasing some of the most diverse and poignant work of this career. Now to kick off 2015 we see four brand new interpretations courtesy of Dubspeeka, Jamie Stevens, Pedram and Petrels.

Press text: The lone interpretation of 'Some Break' is provided by microCastle label artist Jamie Stevens. The Aussie producer is now making his fourth appearance on the label and first of 2015. Jamie has achieved an amazing level of critical and commercial success over the course of his career. As one of Australia's most talented and sought after music producers he has proven his skill in professional sound design, music scores for film and contemporary dance music. As the founding member of Infusion, the much-loved Australian electronic live act, he's left his mark around the globe, headlining some of the biggest and most respected clubs including; Fabric- London, Pacha - Buenos Aires, Womb- Tokyo and festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Roskilde and Creamfields in Moscow, Brazil, UK and Argentina. In his home country, Infusion has received 2 prestigious ARIA awards for their work.  More recently Jamie's discography has been highlighted by a contribution (Prism) to John Digweed and Nick Muir's 'Versus’ album along with 'The Wonder of You', released in 2013 on microCastle, which turned out to be one of his career best pieces of work.  It earned a #1 chart placing in both Tech House and Electronica on Beatport and was widely regarded as one of the year's best releases.  Always a magical remixer Jamie has reinvented the sparkling, melodic 'Some Break' into a stomping techno beast of a record. Already played by Jeremy Olander & Guy J at the VH1 Supersonic festival it looks to be one of Jamie's biggest techno productions of the year.

The EPs third selection and also its title cut 'Pollen Spreader' finds Khen exploring the more subversive, electronica realm of his studio repertoire. The classically styled analog production flows through a myriad of indistinct motifs and subtle musical themes, eventually converging for several poignant moments. For Khen it was a track constructed to begin a long set with, as he describes "The first thing that went through my mind with 'Pollen Spreader' was that it was set out to be a track to start a long main set with. I focused on 808 samples for a steady groove combined with Hammond chords, Rhodes and analogue synthesizers resulting in a timeless feel."

The Italian artist and Endless label boss now calls Barcelona, Spain home. His diverse musical tastes have shaped his storied career, and filled his discography with immaculate creations on All Day I Dream, Crosstown Rebels, Ovum Recordings and his own Endless imprint. Luca carries inspiration from art, architecture and his world travels, all of which contribute to his ever evolving, border-less approach to production. His elegant craftsmanship has been touching the hearts and minds of electronic music lovers for years and he's turned in a splendid rendition of 'Pollen Spreader' here. While retaining the tough, analog appeal of the original Luca has created his own unforgettable designs, which come to life following a stylized first act of jangly hooks. After stripping down, the piece flows through a tension filled section of dynamic beats and new found vocal elements, before the poignant theme is unleashed for a heavenly finale. As Luca says " When I do a remix I need to get inspired and I need to find the right elements to develop my own vision, it’s a state of mind, a place which I can’t explain beyond a certain point otherwise I empty it of its content and meaning… With these 9 minutes, I hope to bring you there! The EP's lead piece 'Sunflakes' has been the subject of much mystery since the summer season. Following several airings by Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J and Guy Mantzur, the collective underground continued to wonder who crafted this poignant creation. The rugged energy and timeless emotive qualities may have been a dead giveaway for some of  Khen's most diehard fans, but now the magic of 'Sunflakes' is finally unveiled to the world. Following a trip to Malta for a weekend and gig with Guy J the composition came together quickly and has been sending dance floors into a frenzy ever since. As Khen describes "When I was asked by microCastle for a main melody track it took me a couple of months to start working on it, not only because I didn’t have time but because I was almost afraid to start a new session with the possibility of no success, and one day it just happened in a special summer mood with  the inspiration after my first Lost and Found night in Malta. This is what I call funky, melodic and progressive minded, full of emotions."

The techno inspired 'Emergency Routine' follows with its big chunky, beats and shimmering overlays, which are just enough to heighten your emotions and initiate a break full of hope and tranquility. In Khen's own words: "I was searching for live instruments, strings, drums and bass guitar together with analogue synths to make a spacious but dramatic atmosphere, and the name reminds me of the difficult days of the security situation in my country."

This is the Northern Irishman's second appearance on Selador, and he returns with an impressive 3 tracker that not only showcases his versatility and range but also a technical prowess honed from over 15 years in the business.

Sometimes the more is indeed the merrier and especially when it comes to Henry Saiz & Band´s album singles. So here comes a Tokyo inspired song ´Cerulean´ with 2 delicious remixes by Fat Sushi and O Mer.
Dominated by dreamy tender vocals, fairytale melody and a climatic palette of textures original mix intends to visualize how our generation distances itself from the world´s all things human. Serene yet desolate and chaotic at times, ´Cerulean´ is a powerful piece that holds depth and a musical maturity Henry Saiz & Band are known and loved for.
First remix comes courtesy of the Swiss duo @fatsushi that takes things directly to the dancefloor with their deep and hypnotic style. Cerulean now meets infectious beats, powerful basslines, and dynamic rhythms - and that´s how we have a trippy melodic odyssey and a rolling club banger, all in one.
Rounds off the package a Tel Aviv born now Brooklyn based musician @moonvehiclemechanic who fills the original song with distinctly and uniquely his own sound turning it into a distorted slow burning epic. This is a meticulously crafted remix that exudes humanity; an enigmatic synthesized symphony to dissolve in.

Every October, the music industry converges in Amsterdam to play host to the world's biggest and most important conference for electronic dance music.  Perspectives Digital celebrates with six artists across four continents on their annual ADE sampler.

Reprising their successful partnership from Perspectives Around the World Vol. 1, the US and Australian talents of Austin Leeds & Danko Skystone combine once more to breathe a gentle "Summer Breeze".  Successful artists in their own spheres, the duo combine a wealth of talent in DJ, production, and engineering that now manifests itself in mellow melodic phrasing and whimsical motifs.  Juxtaposed against a subterranean bassline progression, the upshot is an intricately crafted offering that evolves effortlessly in the early stages before building into a spine-tingling dénouement at the midpoint and exploding into life post-breakdown.

Receiving recognition from Danny Howells for his renowned DJ performances, Michael Hooker continues to find an outlet for the fruits of his "hard work, dedication and extensive musical knowledge", often through his Re:Sound Music.  Via Hooker's imprint, Gothenburg's M.E.E.O has also found success, while collaboratively the duo has hit the headlines on celebrated imprints UV, Dear Deer, and Global Underground.  Debuting on Perspectives Digital, "Clear Minded" traverses a hypnotic path through its looping arpeggio that provides intrigue in its gradual distorted filtering and subtle variation at the breakdown.  A pulsating bassline gives substance and a dramatic change of direction.  The second half sees the track really hit its stride in the third movement.

A 2019 newcomer to the underground dance scene, Finland's Mode Apart made an assured debut on Capital Heaven in the early part of the year.  Already building a solid platform for his music with an unofficial remix of Stan Kolev's "Ananda" amassing over 14,000 Soundcloud plays and an appearance on Above & Beyond's Group Therapy show, Mode Apart is a welcome addition to the Perspectives Digital roster.  "Defiance" is characterized by a chugging progressive groove, replete with a gently side-chained 16th note bassline, offbeat hi-hat percussion, and grooved arpeggio that locks tight against the rhythmic framework.  Using this foundation to maximum effect, a sumptuous array of free-flowing string progressions coruscates across the eight minute piece.  With subtlety and grace, Mode Apart succeeds in creating a track that is as emotive as it is skillful.

Weird Sounding Dude from Bangalore is no stranger to the upper echelons of the Progressive House fraternity.  A century of production credits therefore tell their own story about the Indian artist's ability to showcase his music across a plethora of blue-chip imprints, not least in 2014's "Guruthu" EP for Matan Caspi & Stan Kolev's Outta Limits.  Going on to release on Stripped Recordings, Traum, and Praveen Achary's Juicebox Music, Weird Sounding Dude now debuts on Perspectives Digital.  With its mechanical percussive cadence and strong beat, "Endless" soon envelops the listener with a glorious chord progression and soft vocal phrasing.  A filtered arpeggio supplies a rich counterpoint refrain with melodic elements coming fully to the fore at the halfway point before the clever rhythmic foundation makes a play in the latter stages.
