Test subject 1.19 @tangerine_tangerine launches into a murky space consumed by chaos and dark matter. Arcs of aggression and tendrils of rage are implemented with deadly precision to enact a no-holds-barred aural onslaught from all directions. An incredible expression of the human psyche in a state of frustration and confusion - come well prepared for the high-intensity skirmish set to ensue.

"I felt like I was observing a take on the (emotional) representation of chaos and frustration. Messy, smudgy, and confusing! Inspiration for this mix definitely came from a period recently when I was churning through ZULI’s music and mixes. He does not hold back whatsoever and makes way for a lot of angry and high-intensity sounds. This image seems to evoke similar feelings to what I experience when listening to his selections so I decided to take a similar approach of not thinking about holding back whatsoever, which is a really cool opportunity with a mix since there is no pressure to conform to a context other than your own whim." Very excited to welcome @aliciasteanson to the mix series. This ones been on the cards for a hot minute and it does not disappoint! Alicia is a producer & musician making deeply rhythmic, off-kilter dance music inspired by a love of club culture and the avante-garde. Residing in London, she cut her teeth working at Phonica and studying contemporary music, a combination that has seen her develop a passion for obscure and unusual soundscapes.  

Her sonic vision was realised recently on her mesmerising latest work  ‘Archangelic Collapse’ which dropped as part of the ‘In Clusters’ compilation on Mor Elian’s Fever AM no less. Five minutes of oblique sound design that we’ve come to expect from her radio mixes, readjusted for the dark corners of the club.

Twin System is joined by New York DJ and Producer Significant Other following the release of his latest EP on Anno. For two hours they ran a selection of jungle, techno and ambient from the likes of Big Ever, Bambounou, Pillow Queen.

After 5 years in the Shanghai local scene where she was involved as a dj, and live performer, Elise Massoni moved to Berlin to focus entirely on her music production.

She rapidly got noticed for her subtle blend of broken rhythms and delicate electro which landed her a first EP on Man Band records having her material remixed by Forest Drive West on 2 occasions.

   Being one of those wide-ranging selectors unafraid of drastic bpm and genre shifts, masterfully oscillating between fast techno, IDM, acid, and a smattering of ghetto and electro, Elise marked some notable appearances in some of Europe's most renowned clubs & festivals such as Kaiku (Helsinki), Rex Club (Paris), Dimensions and Flow festival.

   Finally relocating to Paris, Elise started her monthly residency on Rinse France in late 2018 and continues to push her sound forward and signed an opening reshape on François X's Irregular Passion reshape album (2019).

In 2020 she composed 2 short pieces to accompany artists' performances (cf. Tout ce qui ne tourne pas tombe - Chevalive Corporation, Espace Niemeyer Paris). 

Elise has also been part of beautiful compilations such as Grief Into Rage, Mutants Mixtape Vol 3 : SEED and last but not least, (2021) XX LAB first release ( https://youtu.be/AmlQ8mmmzQQ )
