This new full-length of the cult French Dark Jazz collective is the follow up of the highly acclaimed 2011 output "Métamanoir" - the second release for the German experimental music label Denovali. Halfway from their debut "Parole de Navarre"'s ambient and drone driven soundscapes and the more orchestrated "Métamanoir", this new collection of tracks is following their quest for dreamy but mysterious places.

A hint of 50s cool jazz, a truckload of noise and melodies, again tiny references to Twin Peaks' series soundtrack and some ghostly and deep tone voices: the Dale Cooper Quartet pushes the genre Dark Jazz towards other spaces. The album is further enriched by appearences of guest musicians such as Gaëlle Kerrien (Yann Tiersen) and Alicia Merz (Birds of Passage) on vocals.

Recorded in Brest, Britanny, France, this album always conveys an atmosphere of strangeness and beauty, the trademark of each of the Quartet's records. Based upon the live experiences of the band and their everlasting love for the local landscapes, "Quatorze Pièces de Menace" is as striking, deep, fascinating and beautiful as a storm in the middle of the Atlantic.

On November 4th, 2022, Anoice, an instrumental music band featuring a dark and cinematic sound, will release their first live album 'Concert in Tokyo 2022’; a recording of their whole concert held in Tokyo on October 14th, only on BandCamp.

During their performance, Anoice played, not only their representative songs such as 'liange' and 'finale' included in their past albums, but also tracks from singles and EPs such as 'nothing there' and 'inner voice'. Kenji Azuma, an ambient music artist who also forms the improvisation music project, Tokyo Ambient Collective together with members of Anoice, recorded the live performance within the atmosphere of the stage of the venue, allowing you to simulate the experience of Anoice's unique sounds changing from sometimes quiet and sad melancholy, to destructive and violent.

"A Chapter Lost In Us", my latest Cinematic-Electronic composition, features uplifting synths and melodies, all while following a story. As a whole, the record can be looked at from two different perspectives. It can represent a motif, which explains our perception of isolation, or it can simply portray the lost chapter of a novel. From a more focused perspective, the piece follows a protagonist, who is searching for something (or somebody) lost in the woods. When he reaches the cabin, he's knocks on the door and receives no response in return. It isn't until the end of the record, that we realize the page flipping in the woods, correlates with the book closing at the end of the composition. Some listeners perceive this to be the man inside the cabin reading this story, while others choose to believe that this is all fiction inside the mind of the isolated. Regardless of one's perception, there is a lesson to take away from the record. Although you may feel lost or alone, there are people who are trying to enter or impact your life, even when you may be too mentally withdrawn to notice. This is the overall meaning behind "A Chapter Lost In Us", and I appreciate you taking the time to listen!"

Done with the EX 7, using filter and pitch changes performed with the assignable dials, the modulation wheels, and the ribbon controller. It's fun to use all of the tools at your disposal.

'Settlers' is the new album from Western Skies Motel, out April 22nd, 2016 in a limited edition of 170 gatefold 180gram vinyl, CD and digital formats.  'Settlers' was mastered for vinyl and digital by Taylor Deupree, with master lacquers cut by Roger Siebel at SAE.  The first 50 Vinyl & CD's ordered come with a bonus EP, 'Generations' mastered by Kirk Marrison of Kiln.

In the dry desert of Arizona that Lost Tribe Sound calls home, a letter is received from guitarist René Gonzàlez Schelbeck who’s eager to share a collection of intimately composed songs, titled 'Settlers'. Upon listening, we are immediately enthralled. There’s a timeworn, arid, and almost badlands quality to Schelbeck’s hypnotic, cyclical guitar style. It seems to perfectly capture the lonely, barren landscape of the American West. 

Yet, there are curious dynamics at play here as Schelbeck, who makes music under the alias Western Skies Motel, is from Denmark and far removed from any upbringing in the rough-hewn Americana style of folk guitar. Conceivably, his music has more in common with the lonesome, calculated tone of Berlin's modern classical scene or the rainy day folk of the UK. Those are intriguing parallels, since the collective mood of Western Skies Motel's music would adapt so well to either environment. 

Words hardly do justice to the rich, immersive experience of 'Settlers'; yet a few may help to set the stage. Schelbeck is a remarkably well rounded instrumentalist, who spent his early days losing his hearing in local punk rock bands. This youthful love for walls of sound and discordant guitar squalls survives in his modern sound palette. However, a more mature approach to these techniques brings moments of palpable tension, adding in uneasy waves of guitar feedback and droning harmonium. 

But ultimately, the truth of what Schelbeck hopes to convey through his music may rest rmly in his subconscious. In hindsight, 'Settlers' is about moving between worlds: not in the dimensional sense, but more as a constant change in form. Each influence and sound Schelbeck incorporates into his music feels native to the delicate ecosystem of these songs and each turn feels as organic and nuanced as that of the natural world. Just as a tree’s leaves wither and fall; a fire sparks and expands only to expend its last bit of fuel, extinguished and left for ash. So true are the parallels we find in our own existence, the complex ritual of growing old and returning to dirt. Decay is inevitable for all life, yet through this it becomes the rich soil for all things proceeding. Western Skies Motel's weighty instrumental mantras may root in this and other meanings yet to be culled. One thing is clear, this music contains signicant power, and, regardless of our conceived themes or geographic locations, it tells a story that is lasting and instantly familiar. 

'Settlers' sees a 180-gram heavy weight gatefold release very similar to the recent Mute Forest debut, 'Deforestation'. The acetate and test pressings were scrutinized for anomalies on world-class vinyl setups at Arizona’s esteemed audio dealer, Arizona Hi-Fi.

Western Skies Motel is building upon a busy year in 2015, having released two very different full-length albums 'Prism' (Preserved Sound) and 'Buried and Resurrected' (Twice Removed).

Written and recorded over 2 days in South East London, ‘Carried’ is a collaborative EP from violinist Fiona Brice, cellist Tony Woollard and composer/producer Jim Perkins. The project began as an antidote to the sometimes laborious academic tradition of composing, scoring, revising, rehearsing, recording, editing and producing music. 

Each piece was created without score or prior preparation, relying on instinct, discussion and collaboration, with a focus on capturing the energy and essence of an idea whilst it is still fresh. 

The result is a suite of 5 emotive, meditative and distinctive pieces combining drones, elements of minimalism and chamber music with textured harmonics and the occasional melodic line. ‘Carried’ honours the spontaneity and spark of a new idea and nurtures it, creating a deeply engaging and cinematic sound.

“Will Be One Of The Most Well-Known In Electronic-Alternative”- YourEDM

STEREOSHOCK is a composer, producer, and songwriter of Electronic-Alternative Music. 

Born in 1993, the 24-year-old began his musical journey creating his cinematic-styled progressive house. In the five years in which Stereoshock produced Electronic Dance Music, he gained recognition through leading music blogs as well as received support from Tiesto on his SiriusXm show, ‘Club Life’, and during his performances from live events across the globe. 

In 2014, Stereoshock’s passion for progression encouraged the young producer to focus on a new vision. Stereoshock's music, introduces listeners to his signature sound, which blends Electronic-Alternative, with heavily inspired modern-classical, melodic, and experimental elements.

Through out the year, Stereoshock released a handful of successful singles, which garnered wide support on Soundcloud, received praise from various media outlets, and started an appreciation among those who actively look forward to the future of Electronic-Alternative. #1 Electronic Music Publication, 'YourEDM', hailed Stereoshock as "The Future of Electronic", as well as featured his work in a full-page interview alongside some of the music industry's biggest artists. Among all the other accolades achieved through his music, Stereoshock's most successful 2014 release, 'Au Revoir', reached #1 on one of the Soundcloud Popular Charts. 

In 2015, Stereoshock's uplifting and emotionally moving music continued to progress artistically, while consistently earning recognition for it's ability to "Challenge The Boundaries of Electronic Music".  His May & September releases, "Chasing Dusk" and "What Grows Within", both reached #1 on one of the Soundcloud Popular Charts. In addition, "Chasing Dusk" marked the first time one of Stereoshock's records hit radio, picking up airplay on one of the most well-respected stations in the U.S., KCRW.  

In 2016, Stereoshock's post-rock release, "Borne", hit #1 on the Soundcloud Hot & New Chart, and peaked #3 on the Top 50 Chart. The single maintained the top charting position for two weeks.

To date, Stereoshock has earned four #1's on the Soundcloud Charts, as well as has reached over 1,400,000 Soundcloud Plays, since he began releasing music independently on the platform.

With a sound and style fueled by avant-garde progression, the future certainly looks bright for the 24-year-old producer.
