~ About The Story ~

The Tepee - Even though I've never been Japan, i've always been fascinated by the Labyrinth Festival. I've watched and listened to hours of videos and recordings from that mystical place, especially from the Voices From The Lake live act. So when Monument asked me to play before half the duo, Neel, I knew that i'd play a special set to create a familiar atmosphere to Labyrinth. And here is the recording from the night, it's an hour and a half of dubby and atmospheric sounds, an imaginary immersion into the Japanese mountains, meant to dance and connect. - @vbcvibrance

As the approaching cold forces us to warm ourselves from the inside, we turn inward to music for help embracing this polar sensation. Josef Gaard has been a part of the Unrush team since the beginning. His penchant for both ambient music as well as dance-floor oriented styles has landed him at some of the best venues across Berlin and Europe. His recent record, "2929", saw him working with artists such as Kalawila and Dorisburg and was released to international acclaim. A hyaline substance is one with a glassy appearance. The word is derived from Greek: ὑάλινος transparent and Greek: ὕαλος crystal, glass.

Distant from the livesets I play in clubs, I here focus on music I listen to at home, music that gives me a lot of inspiration. In these mixtapes, I try to express my own ideas of musical exploration by layering and mixing sounds, textures, scenes, athmospheres & soundscapes. Playing with tension and relaxation. “Sliced Reflections” is a new EP album by Tetarise and Microcosmos Records.

The project of Eugene Dolgikh from Kursk (Russia) called Tetarise started in 2008; it produces music in different genres such as trance (melodic, progressive, psychedelic), ambient, and chill-out. In 2013 Tetarise took part in the popular weekly radio show A State of Trance hosted by Armin van Buuren; in 2018 its album “Drifting and dreaming” was released on Microcosmos Records.

Music by Tetarise is full of warm tonalities pouring at listeners with its melodic bass lines, lilting techno rhymes and airy guitar chords.

The gentle sound of “Sliced Reflections” takes to a smooth musical journey to the future through the flow of present with tiny gleams of past… The basis of experience together with new experiments are put into a balanced musical interlacement that gives a pure pleasure to fans of chillout.

I've always appreciated how classical music can tell a story with the absence of vocals and a back beat, so I decided to take an unreleased project I started, with the help of my friend Brian Miller back in 2009, and strip it down to only piano. This song is a lot more emotional than what I'm use to creating, and it embodies those particular moments of loss and heartbreak. If it makes you feel nostolgic about a certain time in your life, I'd love to hear about it in the comments. Relax, listen, and enjoy!
