We welcome Aka-Tony for our seventh episode of NatureTempo.

Tony is a musical storyteller shaped by depth, not algorithms. Raised in Zurich and mentored early by his handicapped uncle - a passionate audiophile who taught him to listen long before he learned to play - Tony discovered the emotional architecture behind sound while other kids chased melodies.

What began as a quiet obsession turned into a lifelong pursuit of tension, release, and the frequencies between. As an aficionado of underground culture, aka-Tony avoids the obvious. His sets are sculpted narratives—textural, cerebral, raw—spanning dubby margins, broken rhythms, and hypnotic progressions that reward the deep listener and the relentless dancer alike.

No gimmicks, no crowd-pleasing shortcuts. Just rare grooves, long blends, and a precise sense of timing that comes only from years in the booth and countless nights immersed in sonic detail.

Playing regularly across Zurich and Berlin, and hosting two podcast series, aka-Tony is part of a quiet resistance in electronic music—where taste still matters, and curation is a form of care.

'NatureTempo' Podcast 007 - Aka-Tony

Little delayed, but here's the recording of my set at Nation of Gondwana Festival from a couple of weeks ago. It was my first time at Nation and I was only there for 24 hours, but it was overwhelming in the best way. So many warm, friendly people and a festival that comes alive at night with incredible visual art and music to explore. I can totally see why so many keep coming back every year, it truly has its own special vibe. And I’m happy I got to be part of it this year…and even happier they asked if I could imagine playing one of those slower sets again. It was pure fun and made me realise how much I’d actually missed it! Big thanks to everyone who joined me early Sunday morning at Spelunke and flowed with me through the sunrise 🩵

Closing sets are always special. For some reason, this one felt a bit extra special. 
On this beautiful monday afternoon in the Creatures Corner of Mystic Creatures Festival 2025, we had the honour once again. During epic 3 hours, with bits of rain and many moments of sunshine, many kisses and hugs were exchanged, there were loads of laughing faces and a few tears on the dancefloor. While the birds were forming on the sky for a final dance before moving south, the crowd was pulsating in their last big wave of dancing energy, at the end of about 100 hours of music, surrounded by sparkly bubbles and mystical fog. At one point, the giant cauldron in the middle of the floor, that spit bubbles in the day and fire at night, started to overflow with mountains of foam, that was flying through the air and over the dancefloor like fluffy clouds  while people were smudging themselves - the whole scene became so bizarre in a hilarious way - we will certainly never forget this!
We are deeply grateful to all of you on the floor, our loved ones and friends, and of course the whole mystic crew. 
What a wonderful vibe we created together!

Yaz is a San Francisco-based DJ who enjoys playing tech house, deep tech, minimal, and techno. He is an active member of the Burning Man community and underground house/techno community in San Francisco.

Yaz has played all over San Francisco at all the major venues, including Public Works, Mighty / The Great Northern, Monarch, Midway, and Halcyon. He was a resident DJ at the venerated Wish Lounge for 5+ years, running his monthly Wayward party right up until the pandemic caused Wish to close. Once it was safe to do so, he has taken Wayward to its new home F8 Nightclub, and has been a resident there since August 2021. 

Yaz has collaborated with many different promoters and labels, and has opened and closed for (or shared billing with) well-known artists including John Digweed, Bob Moses, The Scumfrog, Tommy Four Seven, John Monkman, Technasia, and Marques Wyatt, to name a few.

His love for Burning Man is only rivaled by his love for music. His styles go from deep tech, minimal and techno to indie dance. You can find him on the playa playing for his camp DeMentha, and everywhere else for The Janky Barge, Airpusher, and Icarus. Yaz has also participated in many fundraisers in San Francisco for the aforementioned camps, as well as DISTRIKT, Mayan Warrior, the Salty Jacks, and others.
