I love that verse intro and how it develops into an avant-garde sort of rock opera...very unique!

Sometimes when I paint, I find it hard to lay down that first brushstroke of paint. I get inside my own head. Why? I don't know. Maybe it's a lack of confidence that I can do a painting yet again. Maybe I'm afraid of messing it up. 

I lack confidence in myself and it's something I do try to work on. I think a lot of us hold ourselves back from doing something we want to do. Our brains love to tell us we cannot do something even when we really want to. So we stagnate. 

Life is about living. We can't live life in fear of messing up. Messing up can happen, but it's those times we learn more and more about ourselves and we can make it a positive. We have to take the first step. Start with the sky. Lay down the blue or grey or whatever. 

Paint the Sky. 

Start with one step at a time. Move forward. Paint the clouds. Paint a happy little tree. Be proud of yourself for investing in yourself. Take a trip. Read a book. Learn to play an instrument. Try out a new recipe. Whatever it is. Don't hold yourself back from what can be a rewarding experience that brings a positive vibe into your life. 

We need to build ourselves up with more positive behaviors and it is then we can push out and minimize the negative and the darkness that can creep in when we become stagnant and stay in one place. 

Move forward.

This song is dedicated to my gran Phyllis Tewson whose husband died in his fifties. She lived in the same house on her own until she couldn’t look after herself in her late eighties. She was an inspiration to me and she never complained about her lot. Always took an interest in young people and was enthusiastic about all the crap that I shared with her in spite of my naivety. I think about her a lot.
