Feel Good and Getting Better it me or do we all want everything NOW! Instantaneously or even quicker.I think we've fallen into the trap that instant gratification is the thing. But if we get that then we want the next thing and the next thing and I feel we miss out. Why do we want everything instantaneously? It got me thinking how does this apply to our personal development? Our dreams and desires? Enjoying the adventure and not just the elusive prize. Then I got to thinking about therapy and how I like quick and comfortable change. Is that in conflict with the adventure of developing our true self? And I was thinking the other day, why do we want everything now? And I'm saying we, because I know I do. I know I do. Occasionally, not always, but I get lost in that. But I see it in so many different ways that people, want something right now. Right now at the latest, tomorrow. You know, everything you order has got to be here tomorrow. Can't wait. Got to have it. And it's like a race, even. It's not just getting things to be able to do things to, you know, maybe in this land, this life of personal development, there's a race to get somewhere quicker, to find that hack. And I hate the word hack, you know that. To learn something quicker, to have it now, to be able to do these things instant, bloody taneously. And it's. Is it? Or is it? Or is it. Is that search for instant gratification feeling good right now, no delay. It's got to happen now. And I think when you have that instant gratification, it just doesn't last. Because the thing...

Victory Speech and A View From The Balcony This episode is about how to achieve success. Sometimes I hear something and go YES! Someone's using the thing I was also taught because it works. And this episode is developed from listening to master negotiator William Ure and how what he said could be used to create change at the belief, emotional and behavior levels . And what a weird title. A victory speech from the balcony. What the hell does that mean? Cloughie. That's what you're thinking. I know you are. Well, here's the thing. Did you ever listen to someone, hear what they say and, think, yes, yes, that's exactly it. I've been using that. It's like a validation of what you've been taught or what you've learned. And that's what I got. See, I was listening to this podcast, and it was by the guy, a button, or by a guy called get it right Cloughie. William Ure. I think that's how you pronounce his, surname. It's ure. So ure or ure, but William. And he's a chief negotiator, and he's negotiated in every different level you can think of. So political countries, all sorts of things going on at, really, really high levels. And he did this thing he was talking about, instead of trying to look at a problem, like negotiating between two parties and what's a problem? And all the steps that you're going to take to get to the solution, what you want. He said what he used to do was literally write out a victory speech. Now, what a wonderful way to solve a problem. You go to the end, having already got the solution, and you write it down. And why do we write it down? You know why we write it down? Because it goes into your brain in so many different ways. Those neural pathways are going to start firing together, wiring together, because you have to describe...

Simply Being Present In balance, centered and connected. Get these three things together we can be truly present. And if you could get them all in one simple way how good would that be? The Ikigai of Stretch: A New Process for Change In this special, longer episode, we're diving into an extract from a Q&amp;A Zoom call with my son, Joseph Clough. A personal look at me:
 
The above sentence was not always the case and being the best in the financial realms of the building industry was my aim and getting there by any means. I now know this is, and was, the worst way ~ even if I did make director of one of the largest building companies in Cambridge by the age of 30.
 
One of the major realisations came on my first ever training in hypnosis. I found that it’s not a win lose world and that a win win is only a low basis to live.
 
Being true to your beliefs and coming from a place of integrity where service is paramount. This understanding together with lots of NLP skills helped create my last partnership in the building industry grow from a turnover of £800k to £16m in less than twelve years and that can only be done with giving more than expected.
 
Another shaping of me came from two traumatic events in my life that happened within six months of each other which created a number of major changes in me and by beliefs in what is possible. I have written about my experience and how I dealt with it but more importantly it really showed me my love for my three boys and theirs for me and resulted in the step up to become a trainer of NLP (which I never intended) and my close and exciting work with two of my sons. In supporting Joseph and help create change in people in our training’s and his wonderful life changing ‘Be your potential weekend’ and with Luke the continuing development of Cambridge Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis processes. My relationship with my third son Daniel just keeps getting better and better too.
 
Not knowing how good I had become in change work in the beginning I generally studied, practiced and saw clients then things started to happen when I started to work following just my instincts. Two clients come to mind both in effect dying from the effects of what was happening to them and the way they felt and within one and two sessions respectively not only won the will to live they changed virtually in front of my eyes and being apart of that process was and is the best feeling alive.
 
The above are just three of many brilliant learnings I have had in my life.
